FAQ
Is your furniture made of real wood?
Yes. All of our furniture is made from solid wood planks, hand-selected in A-grade quality. You can choose between oak or walnut, both sourced sustainably. The wood is kiln-dried to prevent warping or deformation, ensuring your table remains durable and reliable for daily use.
We make our table tops from 4 cm thick planks, the best in the industry. Some of our tables in farm styles feature 5cm thick planks. You won't see any plywood covered with veneer, only real solid wood.
What is the difference between oak and walnut?
Oak has a lighter tone with a more linear, even grain pattern, giving it a classic and timeless look. Walnut, on the other hand, is darker with rich, wavy grain patterns, offering a more luxurious and sophisticated appearance. Both are extremely durable hardwoods, so it simply comes down to your preferred aesthetic. Learn more in our article: The Timeless Appeal of Solid Wood Furniture – Why Oak & Walnut Stand Out.
Is the wood treated to resist spills and stains?
Absolutely. We finish all our wood furniture with either Rubio Monocoat Oil or Osmo Hardwax Oil—both considered industry-best solutions for natural wood protection. These finishes offer excellent resistance to spills, stains, and scratches, while preserving the natural texture and beauty of the wood.
If I buy a table with chairs or other furniture, will the wood match?
Yes. When you order multiple items at once, we use wood from the same batch of planks to create a beautifully matching furniture set with consistent color and grain patterns.
What if I order a table now and chairs later? Can you still match the wood?
Yes, we keep a record of your order and will match the new pieces using the same wood type and tone, ensuring they complement your existing Talia Haus furniture as closely as possible. Are knots and splits natural in your wood furniture?
Yes, they are! We work with large, wide planks that naturally feature small knots and occasional splits—this is part of the wood’s authentic character. Our artisans clean and sand these details smooth to the touch, and fill them with clear or tinted epoxy resin to create a level surface while preserving the wood’s history and charm.
How do I care for my wooden table?
Our furniture is made to be lived with and enjoyed daily. For regular maintenance, simply wipe up any spills immediately using a paper towel. Clean the surface with a microfiber cloth and a wood-safe surface cleaner to keep it looking its best. We recommend using placemats and coasters to protect the wood from heat and moisture. Regular dusting is important, and it's best to avoid harsh chemical cleaners. Beautiful things are meant to be used—our finishes are designed to protect your piece without hiding its natural soul.
